This beautiful and demanding black dragon scale samurai armor is masterfully crafted into the ultimate work of iron armor and truly a fine example of master crafters of the Iron Mountain Armory. The “Gyorin Kozan” or Dragon Scale Armor is constructed with over 1,000 dragon scale style iron pieces over the laminated iron armor. Each iron scale is laced onto the iron laminated armor with a black silk cord (kuro ito-odoshige) creating an extra layer of protection and beauty that demands the respect equally on and off the battle field. This suit of samurai armor is a true work of art in itself.  Available in Taisho series only.

This armor is an authentic reproduction made of iron, steel, leather, cotton, silk and other materials that were traditionally used during the Warring States Period of Japan. Strictly made by hand in the traditional Japanese manner by highly skilled craftsmen. This is a real, life size armor which an average adult (with a height of 5′ 3″ – 5′ 9″ ) can wear and is fully functional. The clamshell dō features a pin hinge under the left armpit which can be removed and a cord can be laced through the hinges to accommodate a larger chest.
