When Geisha’s Blade first posted that they are making a hand forged version of this sword, as I was about to place my order, it went out of stock really fast. Ihad to wait for some time before I could get my hands on this one and fast forward to today, I got mine. This sword caught my eye due to 2 things:
-Kimetsu no Yaiba is a great show, and I love all of the nichirin blades that were featured(particularly this one, obviously) in the show and how having a black colored nichirin blade is not common for demon slayers.
-The blade is black coated making it less prone to rust and requires less maintenance. I currently own 2 katanas(Wado Ichimonji and Yokai Katana) from Geisha’s Blade. While the Wado Ichimonji is white making everything except the blade(which is also black coated) prone to dust and dirt, the Yokai Katana’s blade needs to be maintained more often.
I digress, this sword is really beautiful. The matte finish on the saya, and the leather tsukaito are both really gorgeous. Also, did I mention that the blade is freaking BLACK???
I only found 2 issues with my sword. I can’t find the mekugi on the lower portion of my tsuka. The description says there should be 2 but I can only see 1. And the menuki on the picture looks like brass or gold, while on mine it is black. Not a deal breaker though since this sword is really really gorgeous. Thank you Sir Aldwin and more power to Geisha’s Blade.
