“Daruma Doll”
What is a Daruma Doll?
Daruma Dolls are spherical dolls with a red painted body and a white face, but without pupils, modeled after Bodhidharma, the founder of the Zen sect of Buddhism. The daruma dolls are weighted on the bottom and rights itself up when tipped over, so it has become a symbol of optimism, good fortune and strong determination. Reminding us all to never give up on our aspirations. Daruma dolls are often sold with the eyes unpainted. People paint in one eye when they set a goal, and paint in the other one when they’ve achieved their goal. The daruma doll has a Japanese character at the center which is the kanji for good luck.

JGM Doc Tore –
It’s really nice. And you can buy as many as you want if you have lots of objectives in your life that you would like to promise yourself to do. It would be a real feat to have lots of Daruma dolls with both eyes attached – meaning you’re already completing your entire “bucket list”. As for me, I haven’t attached even one eye. I’M KINDA AFRAID I MIGHT PROMISE SOMETHING AND NOT BE ABLE TO DO IT. Takot ako!!!
