Description
The tsuba depicts a “Kamakiri” (praying mantis) and paulownia flowers, which is the pattern used by Toyotomi Hideyoshi as his crest/mon which is known as the kirimon. The praying mantis symbolizes: Stillness, Awareness, Creativity, Patience, Mindful, Calm, Balance, Intuition. The koiguchi is made of buffalo horn and has a kogatana (small blade) at the side of the saya.
